Teeth Whitening in Singapore

Brighten your smile with professional teeth whitening treatment at Best Smile Dental. Teeth whitening helps lighten stains and improve the colour of natural teeth for suitable patients with healthy teeth and gums.

What Is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment that helps lighten the colour of natural teeth using professional whitening gel. It is commonly used to improve teeth that look yellow, dull or stained due to food, drinks, smoking or ageing.
Professional teeth whitening is suitable for patients who want a brighter smile in a safe and controlled way. Before treatment, our dentist will check your teeth and gums to make sure whitening is suitable for you.
It is important to know that teeth whitening only works on natural teeth. It does not change the colour of fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures or dental implants.

When Do You Need Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening may be suitable if you have:

Types of Teeth Whitening

Our dentist will advise which whitening option is more suitable based on your tooth colour, sensitivity level, oral health and expected result.

Take Home Teeth Whitening Kit

A take home whitening kit allows you to whiten your teeth gradually at home using whitening trays and professional whitening gel provided by the clinic. Our dentist will explain how to use the kit safely and how long to wear the trays.

Chairside Whitening with Take Home Kit

Chairside whitening is done in the clinic and may be combined with a take home kit to help maintain or enhance the result. This option may be suitable for patients who want a professionally guided whitening treatment with clearer instructions and follow up advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will teeth whitening be painful?
Teeth whitening is usually comfortable, but some patients may experience temporary tooth sensitivity during or after treatment. This is common and usually improves after a short time. Our dentist will check your teeth and gums before whitening to make sure the treatment is suitable for you.
How do I know if I need teeth whitening?
Our dentist will assess your teeth, gums and the cause of tooth discolouration before recommending whitening. Teeth whitening may be suitable if your natural teeth look yellow, dull or stained from coffee, tea, smoking or ageing.
Does teeth whitening work on crowns, veneers or fillings?
No, teeth whitening only works on natural teeth. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers, fillings, bridges, dentures or implants. Our dentist will advise if any existing dental work needs to be considered before whitening.
Can I use CHAS or MediSave for teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is generally considered cosmetic, so CHAS and MediSave are generally not applicable. CHAS may apply for selected related treatments such as consultation, X rays, scaling, polishing or fillings, subject to eligibility and claim limits. MediSave is generally used only for selected surgical dental procedures.
How long does teeth whitening take?
A chairside teeth whitening appointment usually takes about 60 to 90 minutes. If scaling and polishing or other dental treatment is needed before whitening, the visit may take longer. For a take home whitening kit, our dentist will explain how to use it safely, and results usually appear gradually over several days to 2 weeks.
How long can teeth whitening results last?
Whitening results vary depending on your diet, oral hygiene and staining habits. Frequent coffee, tea, red wine or smoking may cause stains to return faster. Regular dental cleaning and good home care can help maintain the result.
How should I care for my teeth after whitening treatment?
Avoid strongly coloured food and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine and curry for the first 24 to 48 hours, or as advised by our dentist. Brush and floss regularly, attend routine dental cleaning and reduce habits that cause staining.
