Dentures

Dentures in Singapore

Replace missing teeth with comfortable removable dentures at Best Smile Dental. Dentures can help restore chewing, speech, facial support and smile appearance for patients with several missing teeth or a full arch of missing teeth.

What Is Dentures?

Dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace missing teeth. They are custom made to fit your mouth and help support daily functions such as chewing, speaking and smiling.
Dentures can be partial or complete, depending on how many teeth are missing. A partial denture replaces some missing teeth while keeping your remaining natural teeth. A complete denture replaces all teeth in the upper or lower arch.
At Best Smile Dental, our dentist will examine your teeth, gums and bite before recommending the most suitable denture option for your condition, comfort and budget.

When Do You Need Dentures?

Our dentist will check your oral condition and explain whether dentures, dental bridges, implants or other tooth replacement options are more suitable for you.

Types of Dentures

Our dentist will advise which denture type is suitable based on your number of missing teeth, gum condition, bite and budget.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used when you still have some natural teeth remaining. They help fill the gaps caused by missing teeth and support chewing and smile appearance.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are used when all teeth in the upper or lower arch are missing. They help restore basic chewing function, speech support and facial appearance.

Acrylic Dentures

Acrylic dentures use a plastic base and are commonly used for removable tooth replacement. They may be suitable for selected partial or full denture cases.

Cobalt Chrome Dentures

Cobalt chrome dentures use a metal framework and may feel thinner, stronger and more stable in suitable cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will getting dentures be painful?
Getting dentures is usually not painful. Our dentist will take impressions and measurements to create dentures that fit your mouth as comfortably as possible. It is normal to feel some pressure, tightness or mild soreness when you first start wearing new dentures. Adjustments can be made if needed.
How do I know if I need dentures?
Our dentist will examine your teeth, gums and bite before recommending dentures. Dentures may be suitable if you have missing teeth, difficulty chewing, loose teeth that cannot be saved, or an old denture that feels loose, uncomfortable or worn.
What is the difference between partial dentures and full dentures?
Partial dentures replace some missing teeth when you still have natural teeth remaining. Full dentures replace all teeth in the upper or lower arch.
Can I use CHAS or MediSave for dentures?
CHAS subsidies may be used for selected removable dentures and denture reline or repair, subject to your eligibility and claim limits. You may refer to the CHAS subsidy table above for the maximum subsidy amount per claim.

MediSave is generally not used for routine dentures, as it usually applies to selected surgical dental procedures.
How long does denture treatment take?
Denture treatment usually takes about 2 to 4 visits, depending on the denture type and complexity. These visits may include consultation, impressions, bite registration, try in, final fitting and adjustment. Simple partial dentures may be completed faster, while full dentures or more complex cases may take longer.
Will dentures feel loose at first?
New dentures may feel slightly unfamiliar at first as your mouth adjusts. If the denture feels painful, loose or uncomfortable after wearing it, our dentist can review the fit and make adjustments where needed.
Can I eat normally with dentures?
Dentures can help improve chewing, but it may take time to get used to eating with them. Start with softer food, chew slowly and avoid very hard or sticky food until you are more comfortable.
How should I care for my dentures after treatment?
Clean your dentures daily as advised by our dentist and remove them when sleeping unless instructed otherwise. Keep your gums and remaining teeth clean with regular brushing. Avoid using very hot water on dentures, as it may affect their shape. Attend review appointments if recommended.
