Eligible patients may be able to use MediSave for selected dental surgical procedures at Best Smile Dental. MediSave generally applies to medically necessary surgical procedures, not routine non-surgical dental care.

What Is

MediSave is part of Singapore’s CPF healthcare savings scheme. It helps Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents pay for selected healthcare expenses, including approved day surgery or surgical procedures within withdrawal limits.
For dental care, MediSave is generally applicable only to selected surgical procedures and not routine dental treatments. Final claimable amounts depend on the procedure, complexity, patient eligibility and available MediSave balance.

All Singapore Citizens with active CPF MediSave accounts

How the Process Works

1. Consultation

Your dentist assesses the surgical need and confirms eligibility for MediSave.

2. Financial Counseling

Our staff provides a breakdown of costs and estimated MediSave claimable amounts.

3. Sign Authorization

Complete the Medical Claims Authorisation Form (MCAF) at our clinic.

4. Procedure

The dental surgical procedure is performed with precision and care.

5. Claim Submission

We submit the claim electronically to CPF/MOH on your behalf.

6. Payment Processing

CPF Board processes the claim and deducts the approved amount from your account.

7. Final Settlement

Pay the remaining balance (if any) that isn't covered by MediSave withdrawal limits.

Necessary for identification and CPF account verification.

Singpass Access

For verification of your MediSave balance and digital authorization.

Family Details

If you are using an immediate family member's MediSave (NRIC of the account holder).

MediSave and CHAS

You may be able to use your CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme) subsidies alongside MediSave for eligible surgical procedures. CHAS subsidies can help reduce the out-of-pocket costs, while MediSave covers the surgical component.

Can I use MediSave for wisdom tooth surgery?
Yes, MediSave may be used if the wisdom tooth removal involves surgery, such as impacted or partially buried wisdom teeth. It is not applicable for simple non-surgical tooth extraction.
Can I use MediSave for dental implants?
Yes, MediSave may be used for the surgical placement of dental implant fixtures, subject to the assigned surgical code, claim limits, and patient eligibility.
Can I use MediSave for gum recession surgery?
MediSave may be used for selected gum recession surgeries, such as gum grafting, where clinically required and subject to the applicable claim limits.
Can I use MediSave for gum disease surgery?
MediSave may be used for selected surgical gum procedures used to manage gum disease, subject to assessment, surgical code and claim limits.
Can I use MediSave for normal tooth extraction?
Usually no. Routine non-surgical tooth extraction is generally not MediSave claimable.
Can I use MediSave for root canal treatment?
Routine non-surgical root canal treatment is generally not MediSave claimable. However, a separate qualifying surgical procedure may be claimable if it applies.
Can I use MediSave for braces or Invisalign?
No, braces and Invisalign are generally not MediSave claimable because they are orthodontic treatments.
Can I use my family member’s MediSave?
Eligible immediate family members may be able to use MediSave, subject to approval, withdrawal limits and available MediSave balance.
What happens if my MediSave balance is not enough?
You will need to pay the remaining balance using other accepted payment methods.
How do I know how much I can claim?
